"Bought in Berlin in 1950 by the first owner, who emigrated to South Africa in 1958 and took the car with him. It was badly hit at the front at some point, hence the conversion to right hand drive, and the '51 front quarters, when it was repaired, and the body number did go with it. But there are quite a few Hebs out there like that. The joys of cable brakes I guess….. Yeah, I know its not all correct, but the fact it survived is surely what matters most. The car went to the VW Classic in the early '90s when the then owner spent a year in the US, and it has travelled extensively around Southern Africa. It has even recently been used as a daily driver.

- The car has been known to the Heb Registry for many years, and has been thorougly inspected by them when it was stipped down. They have photos of it in varying guises over the past 30 years.

- The car is in show condition, but its not concours - I'd put it at condition 2 / 3. It is UK Mot'd, and needs nothing - apart from use and a more appreciative owner than I. If I was keeping it, all I would do is detail it further - body colour the inners etc. I am only selling it as I am not established enough in life to own such a rare and desireable car. It would suit someone who has a decent place to store it, and who has a lot of spare dough. I'd love to keep it, but have to be practical. I will regret it, but at least I can say that I got to own one, and I am grateful that I had that opportunity....
